About

A late starter, a hopeful writer and amateur (very) photographer.

Two short Open University courses inspired me to take up writing and photography.  Now, several writing courses later and one new camera, I hope to go from strength to strength.  Oh dear, cliché already.

I live by the sea in the east of Scotland and love our garden, despite the weather which can be harsh.  To be successful in gardening you have to grow plants that flourish in the conditions you have.  Perhaps it’s the same with writing.  You have to find the right words to express your meaning.   I am still experimenting with words but hope to find the right habitat one day.

In the meantime, I am continuing with my Open University studies. So far have complete two Creative Writing courses, The Arts Past and Present, Exploring the Classical World and Myth in the Greek and Roman World.  My final course in Children’s Literature but for various reasons I have deferred this until October 2017.

  1. I would like to give you (drum roll please) the irresistibly sweet blog award :-
(there is a really cute pic of a cake I can’t post here)

    (sadly) it comes with rules…
    1. Thank and link, via your blog, to the person who nominated you
    2. Share/blog seven random facts about yourself
    3. Pass the award onto fifteen blog buddies or blogs you love
    4. Contact those buddies to let them know

Easy really – have fun and don’t eat it all at once 
